How Priceory matches products across stores
Transparent methodology — barcodes, brand+pack, fuzzy matching, price plausibility checks, and why we reject some links.
Why matching quality matters more than raw product count
A price comparison site that pairs a single can with a carton will look exciting and be wrong. Wrong matches destroy trust and waste shopper time.
Our matching layers (simplified)

- Barcode / GTIN when both sides have reliable codes
- Name + pack structured keys
- Brand + pack keys
- Fuzzy name similarity as a last resort
- Price plausibility — extreme ratios are rejected for homepage deals
What you see on the homepage

- Multi-store deals only include groups with 2+ merchants and positive savings after filters.
- 99 Speedmart bulk often stays unlinked on purpose.
- Suspect rate is monitored operationally so expansion batches do not flood bad groups.
How you can help yourself
- Read pack size on every card.
- Prefer compare views with multiple merchants.
- Treat outlier savings with healthy scepticism — then verify in-store.
