The filename often ends in .heic or .heif. If the file is already JPG or PNG, skip this guide. Converting a JPG to JPG is not a job.

Keep originals
A convert is a copy. Keep the HEIC if you still want the phone’s original. The JPG is what you send. If you delete the HEIC and later need a better crop, you are stuck with the share copy.
